In 2012 ESC joined the team at Tlholego Village working alongside an amazing group made up of local and international community members living and working on the land. Together we got to do some amazing projects which included rejuvenating an abandoned enclosed garden more than 2000m2, doing some earth building with mud bricks, setting up the nursery and falling in love with the 146ha of amazing natural lands. .
Seed to Tree
For Winter we asked all our friends to collect all the seeds for trees they could and keep them until the arrival of spring so that we could all participate in growing trees from seeds. It is surprising to note just how few people know that by planting a seed we can grow a tree ( i couldn't believe it either). So we got a group of volunteers to bring all the seeds they could get and do a mass planting.
By the end of the day we had 478 tree seeds planted in bags waiting to sprout.
We ended the day building a chicken tractor and enjoying a picnic on the grass.
